'Dark & Light' Movement Journey (free to members)

For this special Movement Journey session, Temenos founder, FX10K will be exploring the theme of 'Dark & Light' - encouraging dancers to explore these important elemental forces somatically through dance. We all have dark and light inside of us. They are the counter-balanced dual forces through which everything in the universe is ordered. To seek to live only in the light and evade the darkness means we are out of balance, a state that has inevitable and sometimes drastic consequences.

Carl Jung coined the term the ‘Shadow’ to represent the hidden and repressed parts of ourselves that exist in the darkness of our psyche. He advocated ‘Shadow work’ to assist us to integrate these parts; the shame, the guilt, the loneliness, the anger and the fear (to name but a few) that exists within each of us.
